At Petersfield Infant School, we are passionate about promoting and instilling a love for learning through an irresistible curriculum for all our children. We aim to provide pupils with the knowledge and skills needed to become independent learners and thinkers, prepared and ready to become lifelong learners.
We use half termly topics as the basis for our curriculum planning, informed by the National Curriculum. This creative approach enables us to make learning meaningful, relevant and engaging. Developing the whole child is of key importance and, with this in mind, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum which encompasses our vison of ‘Be the Best you can Be’ alongside our values and ethos of Building Leaning Power (BLP) and British Values.
THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM
The national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said, and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
