Dolphin – Past Events

Autumn Term 2019

We are ready for our Christmas performances!

Take a look at us dressed up in our costumes, before we performed ‘Our Very First Nativity’ to Year 1 and some of the local preschools.

Happy Birthday, Dolly Dolphin!

Over the past fortnight we have enjoyed preparing for Dolly Dolphins’ birthday. We wrote invitations and birthday cards for her party. We carried out a class tally to find which party food was our favourite. We made decorations, badges and presents using craft and construction. Finally we celebrated with a fantastic party!

Physical Development in Year R

Below are some of the Dolphins taking part in a small selection of the gross motor activities available to them throughout the school day.

We work on building core strength through a range of tasks – including using the outdoor gym, rolling large tyres, yoga, and using our brand new pully system!

The development of strong core muscles is really important at this young age.

Look at us go!

Children in Need 2019

On Friday 15th November, we all brought in a teddy from home and donated to Children in Need.

Thank you so much for your generous donations!

We loved having our teddies join us for a fun Friday at school!

Autumn Walk.

We had great fun being nature detectives on our autumn walk today. Look at some of the things that we spotted…

Thank you very much to all of the grown-ups that helped us. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

We have had great fun over the first half term in PE. We have been learning about how to find a space, how to warm up our bodies and we have been using lots of different equipment.

We have had a lovely first week in our new classroom. Take a look at what we’ve been up to…

What is your favourite thing to do at school?

Summer Term

Longdown Dairy Farm.

We had a fantastic day being farmers at Longdown Dairy Farm. We had to feed the big goats, the baby goats, collect the eggs to take to the shop and we got to hold chicks and guinea pigs.

It is hard work being a farmer!

Thank you to all of the grown ups who helped us. We had an amazing day and we hope you did too!

We are Superheroes!

Well done Dolphins, you all looked great

Spring Walk 2019

We had a great walk to the Heath, looking for signs of Spring. We had a checklist of Spring signs to tick. Can you remember what we found?

Spring Term 2019

Easter Bonnets

We all looked absolutely amazing in our very colourful Easter Bonnets.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter!

Red Nose Day 2019

NSPCC Big Workout!

We had a fantastic time learning Zumba with Mrs Powney. Some of us had some very groovy moves.

World Book Day 2019

We all looked absolutely fabulous in our amazing World Book Day costumes!

Our Gosport Trip

We had a brilliant time on our trip to Gosport. We walked to the train station and the train took us to Portsmouth Harbour. Then the Gosport Ferry took us over to Gosport where we walked to a church to eat our lunch. After that, we walked back to the ferry and finally, a double decker coach took us back to school. What a fun day!

Thank you to all of the grown ups who came with us.

We had fun with our grandparents on Silver Surfers and Safer Internet Day!

Yo! Ho! Ho Me Hearties!

We had a brilliant day learning to be Pirates. We went on a treasure hunt around the school, we made telescopes, we played lot of different pirate games and we made fish.

Gosh! A Pirate’s life is tiring!

Yoga with Elsa!

During this half term, Year R are enjoying learning some yoga poses with Elsa from Club Morgan. Here we are, learning four new poses and some relaxation techniques.

Keep checking the Year R page each week, for the new poses.
